CT Scans in Miami, FL

Emergency Dental Services in Florida

Computed tomography (CT) scans capture computer-processed x-ray images of a particular object. Similar to traditional x-rays, they allow us to see inside without opening the object.

Did you know that CT scans are more advanced than x-rays? A CT scan can take multiple images from different angles and produce cross-sectional results for a deeper, more detailed viewing of the inside of the object. At Implant Center of Miami, we rely on CT scans to identify patient problems and to help our patients maintain good oral health.

Benefits of CT Scans

CT scans are incredibly beneficial for diagnosing a variety of medical conditions. By using a CT scan, doctors can get a clear image of the inside of the body, which can help them to determine the cause of a problem and develop a treatment plan. Some of the benefits of CT scans include:

Improved accuracy in diagnosing medical conditions

Ability to see internal organs and tissues in detail

Quick and easy to use

Can be used to diagnose a wide variety of medical conditions

Why Are CT Scans Important for Dental Implants?

At Implant Center of Miami, we use Sirona 3D Imaging. While a 3D CT scan can take panoramic x-rays, a CT scan is different from a pano because it is three-dimensional. It allows us to see the width of the bone as well as the length of the bone. So, our CT scan can actually measure, to the 10th of a millimeter, the bone. This is important because an x-ray is about 70% accurate, and it doesn't allow us to measure the bone. With a CT scan, we know exactly how many millimeters the nerve is from where we're going to place the implant. We also know exactly how healthy the sinus is before we do a sinus graft for an implant.

If you or someone you know is experiencing health problems, it is important to get a CT scan to help determine the cause. CT scans are a quick, easy, and accurate way to help diagnose a variety of medical conditions, and can help to ensure you get the treatment you need. Contact us to schedule your scan!

There are many factors that might indicate a dental emergency is forthcoming, the first sign you may be approaching a dental emergency is a pain. Typically, this is the most obvious sign. Most dental emergencies or dental pain occur at night when the dentist is closed and you're unable to contact your dentists. So, the first sign you may be approaching a dental emergency is pain or sensitivity. Typically, pain or sensitivity means that the patient might have pulpitis or inflammation in the nerve or pulp of the tooth.

The average dentist will charge between $75 to $250 for an emergency visit. This will include X-rays and an exam. This does not typically include treatment for the emergency. Some dentists will offer a free consultation, although the treatment will never be free.
