Dr. Eve Libby: Exploring Dental Veneer Options in Bay Harbor, FL

This is a subtitle for your new post

Hello, I'm Dr. Eve Libby at the Implant Center of Miami in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida. Since graduating from NYU College of Dentistry in 2014, I've specialized in implant and restorative dentistry, focusing significantly on the application and customization of dental veneers.

Today, I want to discuss the different types of veneers and what makes each option unique, particularly focusing on the materials used and their suitability depending on individual patient needs. The most aesthetic option available is feldspathic porcelain. This material is known for its high glass content and translucency, making it the most lifelike choice, ideal for those seeking a natural appearance.

However, patient habits must be considered when selecting the right type of veneer. For instance, for patients who brux or grind their teeth, a stronger material like Emax may be more appropriate to withstand the additional wear and tear. While zirconia is another durable material, it is generally used for full-coverage crowns rather than veneers due to its less translucent qualities.

Veneers are a conservative treatment designed to enhance the visual appearance of teeth while preserving as much natural tooth structure as possible. They are ideal for individuals who have most of their natural teeth but wish to improve the aesthetics of their smile. It's important to note that veneers are not suitable for replacing missing teeth; for such cases, dental implants would be the recommended solution. In some scenarios, a combination of both veneers and implants might be necessary to achieve a comprehensive smile makeover.
