Dr. Eve Libby: Choosing Between Dental Implants and Dentures in Bay Harbor, FL

Apr 16, 2024

Hello, I’m Dr. Eve Libby at the Implant Center of Miami, located in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida. Since graduating from NYU College of Dentistry in 2014, I have specialized in implant and restorative dentistry, focusing on providing the best solutions to mimic natural dental function and aesthetics.

Today, I’d like to discuss the significant differences between dental implants and dentures, and why one might be preferred over the other. Dental implants are a superior choice for many due to their fixed nature. Unlike dentures, which are removable and can often feel uncomfortable or less secure, implants are anchored directly into the jawbone. This offers a sense of permanence and stability that closely mirrors the natural function of your teeth. Implants allow patients to enjoy a wider range of foods and social situations without the worry of their dental prosthetics shifting or coming loose.

While dentures may be the only viable option for some due to various factors, such as health conditions or bone loss, they are generally less favored because they do not provide the same level of comfort or function as implants. However, in situations where dentures are necessary, we strive to make them as comfortable and functional as possible.

The goal is always to provide a solution that gets you as close to the natural state as possible, which is what implants offer. At the Implant Center of Miami, we focus on delivering comfortable, functional, and aesthetically pleasing solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient.
