Dr. Eve Libby: Navigating Dental Implant Treatment at Implant Center

Apr 16, 2024

Hello, I’m Dr. Eve Libby at the Implant Center of Miami in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida. Since completing my education at NYU College of Dentistry in 2014, I have specialized in implant and restorative dentistry. Today, I want to guide you through the process of receiving dental implants at our center, emphasizing our thorough and patient-centric approach.

The journey to dental implants begins with an initial consultation. During this meeting, we utilize advanced CT scan technology to obtain a comprehensive 3D image of your jawbone. This scan is crucial as it assesses the bone’s width and length, determining the viability for implant placement. If the bone density is slightly lacking, we have options available, such as bone grafting, which can be performed either as a preparatory step or concurrently with the implant placement.

If an extraction is necessary, it is followed by a waiting period of about 3 to 4 months, often with a bone graft, to allow the area to heal adequately before placing the implant. The implant itself serves as a new root for the missing tooth and is securely placed into the jawbone. After another 3 to 4 months of healing to ensure the implant integrates properly with the bone, we move on to the final stage, which involves crafting and attaching a custom crown to restore both function and aesthetics to your smile.

The entire process is designed to be as smooth and understandable as possible, ensuring that you are well-informed and comfortable every step of the way. If you have any questions about dental implants or would like to start your journey towards a restored smile, please contact us at the Implant Center of Miami for a personalized consultation. We are dedicated to providing you with the best care and ensuring your treatment achieves your dental health and aesthetic goals.
